FROM A QUICK HELLO TO A TEAM CALL

Audio and video calls.
Bring people together.

Call a contact or bring up to 16 people into a CTalk group call. Use the current Android app or linked CTalk Web, with controls for your microphone, camera and participants.

Start from the conversation.

Open a private chat and tap the phone icon for audio or the video icon for a video call. From a group, choose the people you want to call. Participants need access to the conversation or an eligible connection, a working internet connection and the relevant microphone or camera permission.

CTalk uses internet data for calls. It does not place telephone-network calls or charge a per-minute calling fee; your internet provider’s charges still apply. Access to CTalk is managed through your workspace account.

Install the current Android version for the latest call controls and recovery fixes. Group calling requires compatible CTalk versions for everyone; use the latest release across your team.

Add someone without starting over.

During a call, choose Add participant and select an eligible contact. People already connected remain in the same call. The current group call limit is 16 people including you.

If you leave by mistake or lose your connection, open Calls from the Chats screen. An ongoing call you are eligible to join can be opened again with Rejoin. Once the call has ended, start a new call from the conversation instead.

Use the microphone and camera controls to choose what you share. Muted controls have a distinct state, and a one-to-one video call shows the other person in the main view with a smaller self preview.

Keep the conversation in view.

Press Back to reduce the call to a draggable corner inside CTalk. On Android 8.0 and later, going Home during an audio or video call can open system picture-in-picture when the device allows it. Review Android Settings → Apps → CTalk → Picture-in-picture if the floating window is disabled.

The ongoing call notification provides call controls. Temporary network interruptions can recover, but Android Force stop, device shutdown or operating-system process termination can end a call. Device battery policies and network quality affect background behavior.

Incoming ringtones follow Silent mode, Do Not Disturb and ringtone volume. In a browser, interact with CTalk to allow audio playback. Check notification and ringtone settings.

Know the connection requirements.

Call media is encrypted on participant devices and routed through relay infrastructure. There is no direct peer-to-peer fallback. This avoids sharing participants’ direct IP addresses with each other; the service and network providers can still observe connection metadata.

A controlled test connected 16 participants at limited video resolution. That result does not guarantee full-HD video or the same performance on every phone and network. The service is a testing deployment. Read the call privacy explanation and current release information.
